Welcome to the Frosty Drew Observatory Summer Stargazing Nights! Tonight we open the Frosty Drew campus to welcome back the acclaimed Meridian Project with the first night of their new performance, "Sun and Moon" starting at 6:00 p.m.

Exploring the epic dynamism of the cosmos through two of the most familiar objects in the sky, the Meridian Project will perform new electronic and acoustic music set to a background of stunning art and the mesmerizing starscape at Frosty Drew. In addition, the Meridian Project artists will lead a family-friendly chime building workshop at 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Participants are invited and ecouraged to join in the evening performance with their newly built instruments.

Frosty Drew astronomer Scott MacNeill will direct the stargazing program beginning at 6:00 p.m. with safe viewing of the sun using solar telescopes. As twilight moves in, telescopes will be directed towards Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. Nebulae, star clusters and the fabulous Milky Way will be on display all night while musical pieces are performed.

Bring a blanket, a chair, or an instrument to join in. Sit out under the beautiful starscape at Frosty Drew Observatory and lose yourself in the music, art, and science of night.
