Tonight's forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies early becoming clear overnight. The 82% waning gibbous Moon will rise at 11:35 p.m. and will give us a sample of dark skies before rising. Tonight's weather will be a welcome relief from a usually bouts of fog we have been having at Frosty Drew.

We plan to open the Observatory and Sky Theatre at 8:30 p.m. In the Observatory, telescopes will showcase Venus at 50% phase, Jupiter and the four Galilean Moons, and Saturn. As twilight fades, nebulae and star clusters will be on display until moonrise. The Sky Theatre will have on display a slide show of astrophotos shot at Frosty Drew Observatory. We plan to stay on site until either 11:00 p.m., or later depending on sky conditions.

Overall, Tonight will bring a welcome relief from the fog we have been having and will bring excellent views of Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn. The bright gibbous Moon will eventually wash out our view of nebulae and star clusters, though Saturn will be unaffected. So set out tonight for an excellent second chance to catch a glimpse of the late spring time sky over Frosty Drew!
