Tonight's forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies to start becoming mostly cloudy overnight. The 65% waxing gibbous Moon will be with us until well after 1 a.m. and will brighten up the sky. Even though clouds will be frequent, we should be OK with spottings of Saturn and the bright Moon through gaps in the clouds and thin cover.

The Observatory and Sky Theatre will open at 8:30 p.m. tonight. In the Observatory, telescopes will feature Saturn's rings and the gibbous Moon. The Sky Theatre will feature a slide show of astrophotos shot at Frosty Drew with a commentary and open discussion on general astronomy. We will stay open until 11:00 p.m. or clouds chase us out, which ever comes first. So stop in tonight and catch a mid-summer night's view of Saturn's rings and more.
