Tonight is Summer Saturday Stargazing at Frosty Drew and the forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies becoming mostly clear by 10:00 p.m. with clear skies following shortly after. Being one day past the full lunar phase will give us a bright 98% waning gibbous Moon rising around 8:51 p.m. With the bright Moon rising shortly after sunset and Saturn hanging beautifully in the South sky, we should have an OK chance to catch views of Saturn's rings, a couple binary stars, and the bright gibbous Moon.

We'll open the Observatory and Sky Theatre at 8:30 p.m. tonight. In the Observatory, Saturn's rings and moons will be on display as well as a handful of stunning binary stars. The bright Moon will be easily accessible for those who missed out on the blindingly bright Blue Moon last night. In the Sky Theatre astrophotos shot at Frosty Drew will be on display. We will stay on site until after 11:00 p.m. or clouds chase us out.

Though tonight's forecast is calling for some clouds to boot, we should be OK catching glimpses of the Moon and Saturn through the clouds while we wait for clearer skies to move in. If you couldn't get out last night, second chances rock, and tonight is your night. So stop in at Frosty Drew Observatory and have a post Blue Moon geek out with us.
