When:
Saturday December 31, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Cost:
Free! Donations Appreciated.

On New Years Eve, Frosty Drew Observatory will open from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for a quick window of stargazing to help ring in the New Year with views of the beautiful night sky over Ninigret Park. On the list will be Uranus, Albireo, the Orion Nebula and more.

Additionally, the Town of Charlestown will be hosting the annual New Years Eve bonfire in the park starting at 4:30 p.m. What a great way to start off your night of year-end frivolities with a nice hot bonfire and stunning celestial views in beautiful Charlestown, Rhode Island.

Update - December 31, 2016 1:18 p.m.: Note that tonight's forecast is calling for mostly cloudy to overcast conditions with rain setting in around midnight. The bonfire in Ninigret Park should not be affected by the weather, though our telescopes will struggle with cloudy conditions. We will post updates to our Twitter () and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/FrostyDrewObservatory) later this afternoon on whether we will open the observatory tonight or not.

Have a happy and safe New Year from all of us astro-geeks at Frosty Drew!
