Solar Photosphere and Sunspots
Here's a shot we captured of the solar photosphere yesterday afternoon (Friday, June 12, 2015) during Sunspotting at Frosty Drew Observatory. Visible in this view, left to right, are sunspots 2367, 2365, 2366 (top), and 2360. We look at the Sun's photosphere every Friday afternoon during the summer months at Frosty Drew Observatory starting at 6:00 p.m. Stop in and check out that beautiful star!
