15% Crescent Moon, Venus, and Mars
Early Saturday morning, November, 7, 2015; a stunning conjunction of Venus, Mars, and the 15% crescent Moon occurred. Since early October, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter have been putting on quite a dance for morning sky watchers. At times, Mercury and the crescent Moon had joined in. Saturday mornings conjunction was the last conjunction of the current dance that has been frequenting our morning pre-dawn sky.
We captured this photo of the conjunction. Venus is the brightest star-like object on the left, with Mars in red just above it. All objects appeared with 2ยบ of each other.
