M64 - The Black Eye Galaxy
Messier 64 (M64) is found in the constellation Coma Berenices and resides around 24 million light years distant. The galaxy gets its name from the extensive dust lane that partially obscures our view of the galactic nucleus. This peculiar dust lane may be the remnant of a satellite galaxy merger that has not fully integrated with the main galactic disk.
