Messier 65 - A Leo Triplet

Messier 65 - A Leo Triplet
Messier 65 (M65) is an intermediate spiral galaxy found in the constellation Leo, and is one of the three galaxies that make up the Leo Triplet galactic group. M65 is orientated on an oblique angle, giving us a view of the galactic plane closer to on-edge than face-on. The galactic plane of M65 is visibly warped, which is a result of a past interaction with the other Leo Triplet galaxies. Residing at 35 million light years distant, Messier 65 spans about 90,000 light years in diameter.
