Maximum Wolf Moon Eclipse

Maximum Wolf Moon Eclipse
I captured this image of maximum eclipse at Frosty Drew Observatory on the morning of January 21, 2019 at 12:13 am EST. During this time the Moon was at the most central point of Earth's umbra for this eclipse, and thousands of stars, the wintertime Milky Way, and numerous star clusters began visible in the sky alongside the deep red Moon. The landscape quickly dimmed to the levels we see on nights with no Moon. Image credit: Scott MacNeill
