Pre-dawn Solar Pillar
Just before the eclipsed Sun rose over the horizon, a fantastic solar pillar jetted up from the horizon. This is caused by scattered sunlight over the location of sunrise by moisture in the atmosphere. Image credit: Frosty Drew Astronomy Team member Derek Schacht.
