The Wild Duck Cluster
On June 1, 2016 the skies over Frosty Drew Observatory cleared, leaving fabulously dark skies available to our cameras! I snapped this shot of Messier 11 - The Wild Duck Cluster which is a rather dense open star cluster found in the constellation Scutum and residing at 6,200 light years distant. M11 is a fabulous object for binoculars and backyard telescopes and will be frequently on display at Frosty Drew on moonless summertime nights. -Scott
