Iridium 8 and A Perseid Meteor
I captured this shot of Iridium 8 flaring up during the Perseid meteor shower.
Iridium flares are the result of communication satellites that make up the "Iridium Constellation", which have super reflective antennae, direct a concentrated reflected beam of sunlight to an observers location due to the orbital rotation or the craft. The Iridium Constellation has 66 primary satellites with spares in orbit.
