The Orion Nebula - Autumn 2014

Messier 42: The Orion Nebula is a huge stellar nursery measuring 25 light years in diameter. Residing in the constellation Orion naked eye visible as the middle star in Orion's sword. At a distance of 1,500 light years, the Orion Nebula is the closest star forming region to the Solar System.

At Frosty Drew Observatory we regularly view the Orion Nebula from late Autumn through the Winter seasons.
