2019 Summer Solstice at Frosty Drew Observatory
At 11:54 am ET on June 21, 2019 the Summer Solstice occurred. This happens when Earth arrives at the point in its orbit where the Northern Hemisphere is at maximum tilt (23.4ยบ) towards the Sun. This marks the first day of summer as well as the longest period of daylight of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
