Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy - A First Glance
Here is a shot we captured at Frosty Drew Observatory of Comet Lovejoy on December 26, 2014. This was our first night observing the comet as it rises higher in the night sky. Our initial impressions were that the comet's coma (thin atmosphere around the nucleus) is quite large and fills up the telescope eyepiece. Better viewing to come in the New Year.
