Messier 8 - The Lagoon Nebula
We captured this shot on Sunday, May 24, 2015. M8 is an H II region containing an open star cluster. Active star formation is taking place in this emissions nebula. M8 is found in the constellation Sagittarius and is 5200 light years distant.
