Icy Mountains of Pluto
A much closer image of Pluto's surface reveals the presence of huge mountains composed of super hard water ice. These mountains reach elevations upwards of 11,000 feet. This image was captured by New Horizons on July 14, 2015 at a distance of 47,800 miles
