Welcome to the Frosty Drew Observatory Stargazing Nights! Every Friday night (weather permitting) we open our Observatory, Science Center, Sky Theatre, and telescopes to the sky and offer free stargazing and astronomy to anybody interested in observing with us.

Tonight we will open around 7:00 pm with views of the beautiful night sky over Ninigret Park that will rock your night. Hang out with our astronomers and telescopes as we showcase the Moon, dazzling planets, bright stars, speckled star clusters, mesmerizing nebulae, and vast galaxies. We stay open until 10:00 pm, sometimes later depending on the night. Tonight is also a special event for Frosty Drew Observatory as it will be the night that we retire our old Meade LX200 EMC 16" Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope, which currently resides at the center of our astronomical observatory. After tonight, replacement operations will begin as we commence removal of the Meade 16", pier upgrades, then installation of the new Planewave CDK600 telescope. Stop in as this will be the last chance you will have to observe through the 16" Meade in the dome.

Please note that we do not allow any white lights on our campus from dusk - dawn. This is to ensure an equally awesome view of the night sky for all and to allow for the use of light sensitive astronomical equipment. Learn more about why we have this requirement in The Red Light District.
