Frosty Drew Observatory and URI will be presenting the planetarium showing of "Black Holes". Few mysteries in the universe have the power and awe of the black hole. Only now are we on the verge of understanding their true nature. This new immersive digital theater program incorporates some of the most intense three-dimensional visual effects ever created on the subject. Imagine the most bizarre, magnificent places in the universe and you'd probably imagine a black hole. Produced at Salt Lake City's Clake Planetarium, the immersive show is narrated by Star Trek's John de Lancie.
Journey through one of the most mystifying, awe-inspiring phenomena in the universe in this extreme adventure to the limits of space and time!
Admission, to benefit both the Frosty Drew and URI Planetarium funds, is only $5.00. After the show, we invite you to Frosty Drew, weather permitting, to enjoy the beauty of the darkest skies in Rhode Island.
The URI Planetarium is located at the URI Kingston Campus Upper College Road, building 76 Kingston, RI 02881 (Directions)
