On May 27, 2020 I captured this view of Venus at a slender 2% waning crescent phase. Inferior conjunction happens on June 3, 2020, which is when Venus will orbit in between Earth and the Sun. As inferior conjunction approaches, photographing Venus becomes increasingly dangerous due to the vicinity of the Sun. I carefully track the progress of the Sun as it relates to Venus across the corrector plate of the telescope. Once it reaches the outer diameter of the secondary mirror, my opportunity to capture an image is over.
