Mars at Opposition
On December 8, 2022, Earth arrived at the point in our orbit where we aligned with the Sun and Mars, placing Mars on the opposite side of Earth than the Sun. This is the opposition of Mars. This image was captured at Brown University's Ladd Observatory on December 4, 2022 using the historic 12 inch Brashear refractor.
