Comet 46P Approaches the Pleiades

Comet 46P Approaches the Pleiades
On Monday, December 10, 2018, Comet 46P continued to brighten. Already naked eye visible over Frosty Drew Observatory, the comet stood out like a faint diffuse glow in the sky. This is the first night we were able to capture Comet 46P/Wirtanen as it began to approach the Pleiades open star cluster. On December 16, 2018, Comet 46P will visibly pass the closest to the Pleiades. Image Credit: Scott MacNeill
