This is an image of the total eclipse stage of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse from outside of Columbus, Ohio. Frosty Drew Astronomy Team member, Gavin Olson captured this image alongside dozens of other images of all stages of eclipse. Note how visible the solar corona is in this image. Solar Maximum, which is the period of the highest solar activity over 11 years, is almost here. This will allow for much more intense solar flaring, sunspot activity, and of course a fabulous view of the corona during eclipses.
