Saturn with Six Moons

Saturn with Six Moons

Saturn has reached the point in it's 30 Earth-year orbit where it is tilted at maximum towards the Sun. This is Summer Solstice on Saturn and marks best views of the top side of Saturn's rings in a 30 year period. In this photo Saturn is silhouette by six moons. The moons in order of brightness are: Titan, Rhea, Dione, Tethys, Enceladus, and Iapetus. Saturn will be the primary target in our big telescope on Friday nights during the summer. Stop in and see it for yourself.
