Saturn Returns to Frosty Drew for 2015
With every passing night, Saturn rises a little earlier and is making its way into prime time evening viewing hours. 2015 will be the first of a few exceptional years of Saturn for those looking to capture a glimpse of the unspeakably stunning rings that Saturn has. With a 26.7ยบ axial tilt and a 30 Earth-year orbital year, Saturn's rings appear a different tilts to our viewpoint yearly. Well 2015 - 2017 will bring Saturn's maximum tilt toward the Summer Solstice into view.
Here is our first shot of Saturn for the 2015 viewing season that we caught this morning (April 19, 2015) at Frosty Drew Observatory. This photo showcases Saturn's moons: Titan, Rhea, Tethys, and Dione (ordered by visible size). Saturn will rock our nights at Frosty Drew this spring and summer season!
