Return of the Milky Way Galactic Nucleus
Springtime brings the bright view of the central region of the Milky Way back to the skies over Frosty Drew Observatory. Being one of the darkest sites in Southern New England, the Milky Way is fabulously visible over our location. Springtime also brings an abundance of clouds to our region, and overall a pretty good year for weather, 2019 has brought a cloudy April and May. On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, the morning skies were stunningly clear, allowing for us to catch this photo of the Milky Way galactic nucleus rising over Frosty Drew Observatory. Let's hope for many more nights like this as Milky Way viewing season continues through the summer season at Frosty Drew! Image credit: Scott MacNeill
