Messier 41 - An Open Star Cluster
Messier 41 (M41) is an open cluster that is found about 4ยบ below the super bright star, Sirius, in the constellation Canis Major. Residing at 2,300 light years distant, M41 is comprised of nearly 100 stars and is about 190 million years old. The cluster covers an area of sky the size of the full Moon. We shot this photo at Frosty Drew Observatory in February 2017.
