Annual Ursid Meteor Shower

Annual Ursid Meteor Shower
Every December 22-23, overnight, the annual Ursid Meteor Shower peak occurs. This is a rather slow going meteor shower that brings about 10 extra meteors per hour under excellent viewing conditions. The Ursid shower itself starts on December 17th and runs through December 26th. To observe the meteor shower, set out to a location free of light pollution. Be on site for midnight and lay on your back with your feet to the North, and look to the zenith (top of the sky). You will notice colorful meteors periodically passing overhead.
