This map shows the graze line across New England for the December 7, 2022 occultation of Mars by the Moon. Sky watchers south of the graze line will experience only a conjunction. Observers north of the graze line will experience the occultation too. Those who reside along the graze line, in between the red and blue lines, will experience Mars graze along the southern edge of the Moon, dropping behind topographic features on the lunar surface.
