Messier 22 - Globular Cluster in Sagittarius
Messier 22 is a huge globular star cluster residing at only 10,600 light years distant, making M22 one of the closer globular clusters to Earth. An elliptical globular cluster, M22 is near 100 light years in diameter. Messier 22 is one of the best summer time globular clusters visible in the northern hemisphere and likely the first globular cluster to be discovered.
