Frosty Drew PlaneWave CDK600
This is a running collection of photographs of the new Frosty Drew Observatory telescope, a PlaneWave CDK600 24 inch telescope. This telescope was installed on Saturday, October 23, 2021 and is the result of years of planning, writing, developing, and engineering. This telescope will open the door to tomorrow for Frosty Drew Observatory and Science Center, not only guaranteeing our leadership in astronomical observation in the region, but also enabling us to take bold science steps forward.
The CDK600 includes the L-600 Direct Drive Mount, and the CDK24 Corrected Dall-Kirkham Telescope. The telescope has 24 inches of aperture, 3974mm of focal length, and has a focal ratio of F/6.5. We also have a .66 reducer that will bring the focal ratio to F/4.3 for wider field views.
Take a moment to enjoy the photos and make plans to visit and observe the cosmos in this fantastic device.
