Flower Moon Eclipse 2022
On Sunday - Monday, May 15-16, 2022 a fantastic total lunar eclipse came to North America, with the New England area falling into the best region for visibility. It was cloudy, and foggy for the entire event over Frosty Drew Observatory and Science Center, though members of the Frosty Drew Astronomy Team set up across the Southern New England area in an attempt to archive as much as the eclipse as possible. This gallery is the result of that effort.
The eclipse itself started at 9:32 pm Sunday night, which was the start of the penumbral stage. At 10:28 pm the partial eclipse stage began. Total eclipsing of the Moon happened at 11:29 pm with maximum totality occurring at 12:11 am and ending at 12:54 am. At that time, the partial eclipse outset stage kicked in and continued until 1:55 am Monday morning.
