The platform that will be our base for the new telescope, arrived. It was manufactured according to our rough plans by Joe Brightman, but the end product was anything but rough. It works very well and looks fine. It is sturdy and comfortable. While it doesn't work very well with the existing German mount (because the mount has a long counterweight arm), it should be just fine with the Alt-azimuth Meade 16 inch.
