1 person - me. I mumbled and grumbled all morning looking at the weather maps deciding if we would open. Finally at 4PM I decided that if we didn't open for viewing we'd inaugurate our Saturday Night sessions with a talk entitled "Eclipses, Transits, Occultations and Appulses". One wag who shall remain nameless had the timerity to ask "What do Mitsubishi cars, surveyors tools, arcane mysticisms and vital signs possibly have to do with Observatory?" Ignoring this rude fellow, I posted a couple of signs at the doors of the Observatory and the Nature Center and sat down wondering where I would seat the overflow crowds.

It didn't take much effort, I assure you. Most rational people took one look at 100% humidity, clouds, and assorted "ick" and decided that a nice cool air conditioned living room beat swatting mosquitoes at FDO. I waited until I was sure that no one would attend my talk before I too wiped the sweat from my brow and drove home. Weather can be a real drag.
