No people. Did you ever have the feeling that the powers to be were trying to tell you something? Do you know what a batting average of 409 is? Well, 409 is a great number for a Triple A player to have. That young batter will be in the "show" before you can say "Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?". Batting 409 in baseball is great as long as you are a hitter, but batting 409 when it comes to opening the ballpark it is not exactly world class.

Likewise 9 out of 22 Fridays Nights open at FDO ain't so great - and 9 out of 22 just happens to be a batting average of 409. Putting an observatory on the Rhode Island coastline is akin to putting a mansion on a California thixotropic clay cliff. Looks great, but didn't the prior owner say something about a slippery slope? Maybe I'm just hyper sensitive, but do you know folks I really am getting the feeling that being an amateur astronomer at FDO is one of those things Mother Nature does not fully endorse.
