Transit of Mercury 2016

I captured this composite shot of the path Mercury took across the Sun during the Transit of Mercury. This is composite on 17 minute interval. The large gaps on the left are from a cloudy start. The large object at the top center is a sunspot 2542.

The fabulous Transit of Mercury happened on Monday, May 9, 2016. Frosty Drew Observatory was open for the entire event which ran from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. We had clouds for the first few hours, which cleared to beautifully sunny skies. Here are a collection of photographs we captured of the transit. -Scott
